This Disclaimer explains the limits of the information and software we provide. Bristlecone IT Services (“BITS,” “we,” “us”) is operated by Corey J. Mahler. This Disclaimer is part of our Terms of Service, and capitalized terms that are not defined here have the meanings given there. If this Disclaimer conflicts with the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service control.
General Information Only
Site Content is provided for general information only. We try to keep it accurate, but we do not promise that it is complete, current, or suitable for your situation. Software, operating systems, and services change, and instructions that worked when they were written may not work later.
No Professional Advice
Site Content is not legal, financial, security, or other professional advice. You are responsible for deciding whether information on the Site is right for you. For advice about your situation, consult a qualified professional.
Tutorials and Instructions
Some tutorials and documentation describe changing hardware, system files, router settings, or website settings. Following them may cause loss of data or configuration, damage to equipment, or loss of a manufacturer’s warranty. Back up your data and settings first, and follow any instructions at your own risk.
Freeware and Plugins
The Freeware and the Plugins are free and are provided “as is,” without any warranty. Each one is governed by its own License, and that License controls. Compatibility notes describe what we have seen work. They are not promises that the software will work on your system.
Launcher for AirPort Utility v5.6.1 is not authorized, approved, or recognized by Apple. Use it at your own risk.
Pre-Release and Planned Products
zDiary is in open beta, and zDossier and Bristlecone R2 are not yet released. Descriptions of Pre-Release Products, planned Products, and planned features, such as zSync, describe our current plans. They may change, and they are not promises that a Product or feature will be released or will work as described.
Third-Party Names and Trademarks
Product names, company names, and trademarks of others that appear on the Site belong to their owners. These include Apple, AirPort, macOS, iPhone, Apple Watch, App Store, and TestFlight; Cloudflare and R2; WordPress and Jetpack; iA Writer; Stripe; and GitHub. We use these names only to describe compatibility or to refer to those products. Our use of them does not mean that their owners sponsor, endorse, or are affiliated with BITS. For example, Bristlecone R2 is not affiliated with Cloudflare, and Bristlecone Markdown is not an iA product.

The Site links to Third-Party Services and other websites that we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices, and a link is not an endorsement.
Product Terms Control
Products with their own Product Terms, such as zDiary, have their own disclaimers. For those Products, the Product Terms control.
No Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site, the Site Content, and the Products are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy, and non-infringement. Section 14 of our Terms of Service describes this disclaimer in full.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BITS and Corey J. Mahler are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site, the Site Content, or the Products. Our total liability is limited as described in Section 15 of our Terms of Service.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, or other limits on liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
